&c
A shortened form of the phrase "et cetera" which means "and so forth."

ASCII
An acronym for the "American Standard Code for Information Interchange."  First introduced in 1963 as a numeric standard for representing alphanumeric information on early computing systems.

e.g.
An acronym for the Latin phrase "exempli gratia" which means "for example."

etc.
An abbreviation for "et cetera" which means "and so forth."

Unicode
The universal character encoding, maintained by the Unicode Consortium.  This encoding standard provides the basis for processing, storage and interchange of text data in any language in all modern software and information technology protocols.  See also:  http://www.unicode.org/standard/WhatIsUnicode.html
